Chinese New Year 2015 Special

Totally Made at Home: Chinese New Year 2015 Special 

This year, the kids and I spent a lot of time preparing for Chinese new year. 

Firstly, we home made all our Chinese New Year Goodies this year. You can find the simple recipes here. 

Pineapple Tarts                      Crabsticks

Oatmeal Cookies                               Honey Cornflakes

Secondly, we made a Chinese New Year Big Book which includes the following activities:

Activity 1: The Legend of Nian.
Activity 2: The Chinese Traditions
Activity 3: Learning about the 12 Zodiac Animals.
Activity 4: Cheng Yu and Phrases about the 12 zodiac animals.
Activity 5: Chinese ART
                  -Chinese Painting of 梅花 using 毛笔。
                  -Chinese Calligraphy 
                  -Chinese Paper Cutting
                  -Thumbing Printing of 梅花
Activity 6: Chinese New Year Items and their Symbolic meaning
Activity 7: Making Firecrackers.
Activity 8: Making Our Red Packet Lanterns

I really wish I could make some of the resources I have made printable. But I haven't got the time to go learn yet. Anyone who knows, can you please please teach me? Please PM me. TIA.

We also learnt how to make 财神 origami from a website.

We even reused a box and made our orange holder out of it.
