Blossom Bliss @ Gardens by the Bay
This March holiday, we decided to bring the kids to "Japan" and to venture into the Dye-Nosaur world.
So check out the Sakura and the 11 activities you can do at the Children's Festival - Dye-Nosaur Garden.
Part 1: Our trip to 'Japan'
Blossom Bliss will start from 3 Mar 2017 to 24 Mar 2017
Time: 9.00am - 9.00pm
Location: Flower Dome
To ensure that visitors can admire these Sakura in a relaxing environment, do note the flower dome will be run by timed entry for the Blossom Bliss period. This means that you will have to purchase tickets into the flower dome with your preferred time - 9am/11am/1pm/3pm/5pm/7pm.
Let's start with some fun facts about cherry blossoms.
Fun Facts about Cherry Blossoms.
1. Cherry blossoms (as known as Sakura) aren't always in pink and the names of the flowers is depended on the number of petals it has.
We found this to be true at the Flower Dome. The kids were excited to find white and pink Cherry Blossoms. The different species also have flowers of varying number of petals. Below are only some of the Cherry Blossoms you can find, you got to go and discover more on your own.
Individually so beautiful and together, they simply form a stunning and dreamy landscape. With the cool environment, it really felt as though we were in Japan. We enjoyed the relaxing and calming effect. The Cherry Blossoms look much more spectacular when you are there than in the photos.
2. Cherry Blossom is Japan's national flower. It symbolizes renewal and hope.
3. Each Sakura tree may only bloom for up to a week. The tree usually live for 30 to 40 years.
This hope and beauty makes me unconsciously think about life itself. It serves as a visual reminder to me of fragility and the beauty of life. Life is short, yet we want to live it as best as and as beautiful as we can.
So we should live life happy everyday for as long as we can.
In them (these sakura and kids), I see hope for the future.
We must cherish our loved ones and be with them always.
One thing I always emphasize to my kids is that our time together is short. Especially as them living together as siblings . So they must love one another. I'm glad that the bond between my kids is so strong.
